Our History

The History of M. F. Chase Unity Memorial Church

Our Founder, Mother Mae Francis Chase, established our church organization in 1919. She was born in Ayers, Maryland, a little village near Cambridge, Maryland. While living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she founded The Unity Bible Class in Star Hill, Delaware that was later named the M. F. Chase Unity Memorial Church Organization, Inc. Mother Chase was a public educator prior to being called into the gospel ministry. She believed that teaching a community through education was the thread that would bind them together in the good and the bad times.

Today, her love for teaching and the spirit of learning still resonates within our walls. Elder Samuel L. Dixon, Dr. Min, D.R.E., Pastor and General Overseer, has the same spirit. His philosophy is: "Education means developing the mind. Learn all you can here and God will teach you the rest in heaven."

Mission Statement (Act 1:8) - to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world and make people disciples, learners and followers of Jesus Christ. Our mission must be that which Jesus commanded.
